About ME

Hello! Welcome to my website Social Sweet Seeds. I created this space to share my love and passion for vegan food.

My name is Amanda and I live on the Gold Coast, Australia, I have been fortunate to be involved with my parents family cafes for over 15 years. My father is my inspiration, when I was born he was beginning his journey as a chef. My fondest memories growing up involved sitting in the back rooms of cafes watching cartoons with my brother and sister, while doing small jobs to help out. From there we were all lucky to work together to create vibrant unique cafes with our own personal twist to each of them. Even today people are using and developing upon ideas we developed a decade ago.

Around 5 years ago I started to see the industry really start to evolve. I was personally on a journey to discover alternative methods for my PTSD, which is how I got involved and passionate about the philosophy of food as ‘medicine.’ From my years of studying psychology and sociology I knew that food could make you feel something special and create memories with family and friends, however I wanted to learn more about the nutritional benefits of eating certain foods and how they can have positive effects on our bodies. From here I have developed many friendships in the health industry and create recipes for companies to promote their products.

I now have a small business where I supply vegan slices, cakes and savoury food to cafes and create individualised cakes for any special occasion. I have a passion for helping and sharing ideas with others that are cruelty free and environmentally friendly. I also manage my Instagram account @socialsweetseeds photograph all my pictures (I am getting better at this :)) and love working with other companies freelancing recipes.

I hope you enjoy reading my small blogs (I try to keep it simple) and are able to share my recipes with your family and friends. I truly believe that food can make any occasion memorable, I love it when people tell me how much they enjoyed this cake or how all their friends loved the salad they made. I also try and develop recipes that are suitable for people with dietary requirements by using gluten free, diary free, nut free alternatives.

I love how plants can create amazing dishes – where people are asking you ‘is this really vegan?’ I hope you can join me on this journey and share your own experiences with me.

Let’s build something together.
